Czesław Sings Miłosz - album, which is a culmination of the project Miłosz Multiple Portrait achieved the tenth position in the Empik TOP 10 chart.
Czesław sings Miłosz consists of ten compositions of Czesław Mozil in arrangements of Czesław Sings band combined with Czesław Miłosz poems. First time we could listen the compositions on June 30 on the occasion of the anniversary of Miłosz birthday – it was a part of the project organized by the BSCC. The official premiere of album was on November 7.

On November 18 the twentieth General Assembly of Culture Action Europe was held in Brussels. New members of Executive Board were elected during a meeting: 8 of 10 nominees were elected including Lawrence Okey Ugwu, director of The Baltic Sea Cultural Centre.
The BSCC is a member of Culture Action Europe network. Last summer, during Open Culture Spa we organized together conference about role of culture in policy of European Union.

In July already for the 12th time the Kościerzyna Book Fair of Kashubian and Pomeranian Literature Costerina 2011 took place. We are very happy to announce that a book prepared and published by the Baltic Sea Cultural Centre, Òpòwiédz mie bôjkã / Opowiedz mi bajkę..., was awarded the main prize for edition (categorie: Kashubian language).
The main idea of the South Baltic project Wind energy in the BSR – the Upgrade is to overcome some of the obstacles standing on the way of developing the wind energy in the Baltic Sea countries.
The Upgrade project choses a sensuous approach to wind energy use. By bringing energy production from this renewable source into the public urban space, art enables an aesthetic experience that allows a very different approach to the topic – far away from so frequently used tools as information campaigns, listing advantages etc.
The Stage Europe Network foresees the collaboration of six cultural organizations from six different European countries: France, Germany, Iceland, Norway, The Netherlands, and Poland. The principal aim of the network is to connect different organizations that work in the music or culture field, exchanging competences between expertise, developing long-term projects in which young European bands can be involved in. The main common goal is to promote the active participation of young people in music in an European context and give them an intercultural learning experience.
In July, the European Commission will officially launch discussions on how much money will be spent on culture in the next EU budget. The Comission will also question the shape and content of the EU Culture Programme: currently, direct support for arts and culture represents 0.05% of the total EU budget. we are more believes this does not properly reflect the importance of arts and culture in the development of all European societies - if you agree, join the action and sign the manifesto!
