"A Need of Water in Sudan" – photography exhibition of Wojciech Grzędziński

The photography exhibition of Wojciech Grzędziński A Need of Water in Sudan was organised by the Polish Humanitarian Action (PAH) within the framework of the Water Campaigne – the TriCity audience will have a opportunity to see it included in the programme of the AfryKamera 2011 Festival.

The photo feature was created in March 2010 during a trip of the photographer and employees of the Polish Humanitarian Action to South Sudan. Grzędziński’s picture show the everyday life of the people of Sudan, focusing specially on the problem of the lack of drinking water – the main issue of people living in Sudan. There is a limit of app. 6 liters of water a day per person – often less. This should be enough for cooking, drinking and washing. It’s one third of the minimal needs – says the photographer.

Since 2006 the Polish Humanitarian Action leads a stable mission in South Sudan – one of the main goals is helping to secure safe drinking water - by cooperating with the local citizens building and fixing wells, financing trainings concerning pomps fixing and promoting hygiene. Until now thanks to PAH 82 new wells were built in South Sudan – each day they are used by over 80.000  people.

The exhibition is open Mon-Fri 09.00 am – 06.00 pm, Sat-Sun 12.00 – 04.00 pm.
