Edu windows to the world. Arabia and Maharajah Dream

Edu windows to the world. Arabia and Maharajah Dream

...Because the art of storytelling
is one of the oldest, skills
attributed to human beings

By bringing up tales,
legends, stories form all over the world,
we invite to exotic journeys
with spoken word-word
being the only carrier of universal
truths continued from ancient times.

Words catchers

The Baltic Sea Cultural Centre in Gdansk, and Group of Story-tellers Words Catchers, are cordially inviting you to a cycle  of meetings for children aged 6 to 9 entitled Edu-widows to the world, as a part of educational program for Festival of World Cultures.

The upcoming meeting is devoted to Arabic culture.

In this meeting we take routs of merchants, visiting south of Mediterranean Sea shore: form Yerushalaim through Al-Isandrija to Marrakech, from arabic numbers, through calligraphy and ornaments. Dancing Dervishes , caravans, and minarets growing up from reddish sands, all this will open the gates to exotic world to us.

All meeting ( 1h20 min) is divided in 3 blocks

1. Presentation ( Geographical and cultural situation )
2. Fair-tales part ( Stories form Egypt, Tunisia, Morocco, and Arabian tales)
3. Workshops part ( ornaments, elements of calligraphy, drawing by trace )

The aim of the project is to promote cultural diversity and non-standard methods of teaching. We would like to break stereotypes and familiarize children with richness of other cultures.
