VII Festival Of African Movies AfriCamera

We are inviting you to the following edition of the Festival of African Movies "AfriCamera 2013" , organized by the Baltic Sea Cultural Centre. The Festival takes place between 11th and 14th of April at Kameralne Cinema and Old City Hall in Gdank.

Movies screened this year are the best pictures produced in Africa in past few years. Africa is at the peak of its renaissance-it is the fastest growing region of the world now, and movie production business is thriving in South Africa, in Kenya, Egypt, Algeria, Morocco and recently in Senegal. The movies selected for this year's festival picture Africa as it is: a continent with very difficult history, but unusually rich culture, with serious problems and people full of character. African movies despite the fact of reaching for North American and European developments, speak its own language and about characteristic African problems, showing context in a manner different from simplified Western productions relating to Africa.

In the program of this year's edition of AfriCamera, we have planned some attractions for the youngest audience, accompanying events and book sales. As usual the Festival is divided into sections:

Focus Senegal: a part including selected movie productions from Senegal, movies : "Madame Tyson", "L'Absence"

Afroselecta: this part includes the best movie produced in Africa: awarded at world film festivals, blockbusters in their countries;
