Opening of the garden designed by Reshtki Group - The Baltic House Lab 2015

5 September | Saturday | 17:00 | Wiosny Ludów street by the water-tram stop

First part was participatory designing of the garden for local community in Wiosny Ludów street.
Our aim was to create friendly place on Motlawa river bank, for the local people and the passengers of the water-tram. We have invited neighbours to cooperate in designing of the garden. First we asked about their needs and expectations and we have presented our idea for arranging of the space. Taking their opinions into consideration and respecting their previous actions in making the place more beautiful, we started realizing the project. We have invited the local community to participate in building, in order to create the new friendly place for all users. Reshtki duet is responsible for the project and building and Dominik Krzemiński is going to prepare an evaluation report, summarising the works around  the “Garden at Wiosny Ludów”.

Reshtki (Sara Podwysocka, Maria Ostrowska)
It is a group founded on love and passion for transforming unwanted objects. We do workshops and we design,  giving new life to garbage,  following the rule of three R: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. Our field of interest is ecology, social needs, urban space and good design meaning: aesthetics, function, comfort, quality and safety. Our workshops, for all age groups, aim to develop new skills and creativity, allowing new perspectives on recycled objects, seemingly useless. In 2013 Resthtki Group realized a playground “O-O Pony” – totally made of tyres and euro-pallets. It is first playground in Poland made entirely of recycled materials with the certificate of safety. Our motivation in work comes from the need to make reality more funny, colourful and attractive.
