Gdańsk Art of Accordion Music Interpretation is one of the few Polish projects presenting new directions in accordion music. The idea behind the concerts is to combine avant-garde first performances of contemporary music with acclaimed pieces written for accordion. Previous editions featured numerous renowned musicians, such as: NeoQuartet – a group specialising in the performance of contemporary music,  Hevelius Brass – a brass quintet, Orkiestra Kameralna Progress – chamber orchestra,  Tadeusz Samerek – cellist, Grażyna Krzanowska – composer, the widow of Andrzej Krzanowski – an outstanding creator of music for accordion.

Since 2008, the following artists have composed music especially for Gdańsk Art of Accordion Music Interpretation: Marek Czerniewicz, Krzesimir Dębski, Anna Maria Huszcza, Paweł Kwapiński, Mikołaj Majkusiak, Krzysztof Olczak, Cezary Paciorek, Gerhard Steäbler, Paweł Sławiński and Maciej Zimka. Some of the compositions have been printed by the Publishing House of  Stanisław Moniuszko Academy of Music in Gdańsk.
