Multicultural Pomerania – PRESENTATIONS

Multicultural Pomerania is a series of art events in the Baltic Sea Culture Centre in Gdańsk, intended to showcase the cultural and artistic potential of the incomers of different nationalities (immigrants, members of ethnic minorities) residing in the Pomeranian province.

The most important objective of this project is to hand over the artistic initiative to the representatives of various cultures living in Pomerania.

The events of Multicultural Pomerania will be held several times a year as a programme accompanying the Festival of World Cultures Window Onto the World.

The first part of the project will take place on May 18th at the St. John's Centre in Gdańsk. We will have an opportunity to hear musicians from Belarus and Suriname. An additional attraction will be a theatrical spectacle, in which the employees of GAK - the Station of Orunia in Gdańsk perform together with emigrants from Pomerania.

If one doesn't want to, doesn't have to speak / Lesson of humanity
- performance

Do not walk in red light. People like to socialize, so even if you don't want to, you will have to talk to them. Say goodmorning and goodbay. Learn to speak no. Do not eat anybody. Smile, but lightly. Walk slowly unless you are on a crosswalk. If you are walking slowly, go the right side so that the faster ones can pass you. Find someone who understand you. Remember that you are not the most important in the world.

In the performance we will try to put the man back together. We will consider what it means to be human and whether it can be learned. We go back to the beginnings of humanity.

The performance is the final of the Free Word Zone workshops held in the Gdanski Archipelag Kultury.
