34th “Sounds of the North” Festival

About the Festival:
34. The “Sounds of the North” festival, organised by the Baltic Sea Culture Centre in Gdańsk, is one of the oldest and most important folk music festivals in Poland. The event offers a high-quality programme and a unique theme centred around the music tradition of Poland, Scandinavian countries and other countries of the Baltic Sea region.

The festival promotes contemporary folk music, allowing space for experiments, as well as for close adherence to tradition. The festival stage has seen both young talents and widely recognised stars of the genre; what they all have in common is the excellent skill of the artists and individual character of their music.

The events organised as part of the Festival include concerts, dance, singing and handicraft workshops, dances, film showings, meetings and presentations.
