This is the fifth edition of our Festival Metropolis is Okey. The Festival venues are: club "Parlament" in Gdańsk, club " Sfinks 700" in Sopot, club " Ucho" in Gdynia, the seat of the Baltic Sea Cultural Centre - the Old Town Hall, St. John's International Cultural Centre, and the seat of Gdańsk 2016.
The Festival will take place between 26th and 29th December and we shall see over 50 performances of local bands and exclusive presentation of dance theatres performing at St. John's International Cultural Centre. The Festival includes "literary meetings" with authors crowned with a performance of "Impro" theater-cabaret improvising group " W Gorącej Wodzie Kompani" . But it is not all... This year we shall introduce dj's night reviewing club scene as a part of our Festival on 27th December in "Sfinks 700" and "Flea Market" presenting works of the Tri City recording studios.
It is the fourth possibility to take part in the project Gdansk Art of Interpreting Accordion Music of 20th and 21st century. This year we will listen to the premieres of compositions, in which accordion is the most important instrument.
It will be the first presentation of the composition which has been commisioned abroad in the whole history of that project. As part of the Gdansk Art of Interpreting Accordion Music of 20th and 21st century will be two concerts. First of them will be in a room of Culture and Sport Centre in Pruszcz Gdanski, second in the Old Town Hall in Gdansk.

Décadence is a debut album of a young Polish pianist, Przemysław Witek. Released in spring 2011 the album was enthusiastically received both by critics and listeners.

Surely the Grand Opening of the beautiful gothic St. John’s church is a great occasion to share a new composition of Leszek Możdżer with a wider audience. How will composed for soprano and string orchestra, performed by the Polish Chamber Philharmonic Orchestra from Sopot, conducted by Wojciech Rajski, Te Deum sound in the renovated interior of the church? This we will get to know during the last evening organised in the cycle of events prepared for the Grand Opening of the church.

Along with the Frederic Chopin Association in Gdansk we have a pleasure to invite you to a piano recital of Paweł Wakarecy. The musician was praised as the best Polish pianist during the last International Frideric Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw (2010).

Mariacka under the Stars is a meeting of amber and art in natural scenography of one of the most beautiful streets of old Gdansk - Mariacka Street. Here are traditionally located galleries and studios preparing and presenting amber. This is already the second time that the International Amber Asocciation prepared the celebration along with Gdańsk International Trade Fair, many cultural institutions and the St. Mary’s Basilica.

Already for the 4th time we will invite you to enjoy the contemporary Lithuanian art with us. This year, during Vilnius in Gdansk Festival we will present exhibitions, concerts, films and animation. As an addition we have also prepared a fair of traditional Lithuanian crafts.
The most talented singers of the young generation, laureates of nationwide festivals and song reviews are the bright stars of the Z Młodej Piersi Się Wyrwało cycle of concerts. Thanks to the cycle they have a chance to present themselves to a wider audience.
Encouraged by the successes of former editions of this event we will again this summer present you to the young Polish talents.
There are a lot of festivals of alternative music in the Tricity, but only Fląder has what it takes to make it work really well – two venues at a beach, more than thirty performers during two evenings (and nights) and a few years of tradition.
The Baltic Sea Cultural Centre as usual supports Fląder and invites everyone to Brzeźno!
Soon within the Solidarity of Arts Festival we will invite you for a special concert co-organised by the Baltic Sea Cultural Centre - World Orchestra by Grzech Piotrowski. It is an extraordinary journey to the roots of music, a journey with unique composition of artists, instruments and songs that constitutes a project that’s unlike anything you would ever expect of World Music.

Ecological culture inn (Ekologiczny pensjonat kultury) is a one-week cultural program within Open Culture Spa, concerned with activity of Swelina Association which will embrace lectures, workshops, exhibitions, screenings and concerts with an ecological picnic on the beach as a finale.
