We want to invite you to the exhibition Congo in Limbo by a famous photojournalist Cedric Gerbahaye and meeting with the artist, which will be conducted by Adam Mazur.The exhibition is a part of this year Meetings with the World.
The exhibition will be opened on 20 November 2011, in the the BSCC Gallery (Old Town Hall, 33/35 Korzenna Str.) at 6.00 pm by Anna Zalewska – a curator of the exhibition and Krzysztof Miękus. Exhibition will be open until 12 December, 12.00 am – 6.00pm, admission 1 zloty.
Issues of death, illness and adversity for a long time weren’t present in art created for children – similarly sex, domestic abuse or parents’ divorce. Nevertheless, the last decade has brought changes on this field and more and more often authors of books for children reach for the taboo subjects. Mostly Scandinavian authors and illustrators tend to present these subjects, but it can also be noticed at Austrian, Swiss or Portugese authors and artists.
Mariacka under the Stars is a meeting of amber and art in natural scenography of one of the most beautiful streets of old Gdansk - Mariacka Street. Here are traditionally located galleries and studios preparing and presenting amber. This is already the second time that the International Amber Asocciation prepared the celebration along with Gdańsk International Trade Fair, many cultural institutions and the St. Mary’s Basilica.

For the past 15 years the Baltic Sea Cultural Centre and the Kosycarz Foto Press have been sharing a pleasure of presenting to you results of the Gdansk Press Photo competition. This is the most significant photo competition designed for photographers (both, professional and amateur) from the north of Poland (Pomorskie and Zachodniopomorskie Voivodship).
Opening of an exhibition during which we will also award the laureates will take place September 7 at the BSCC gallery at 5.00 pm.
Exhibition will be opened till September 25 (opened every day within 10.00am and 6.00 pm).
Already for the 4th time we will invite you to enjoy the contemporary Lithuanian art with us. This year, during Vilnius in Gdansk Festival we will present exhibitions, concerts, films and animation. As an addition we have also prepared a fair of traditional Lithuanian crafts.
The exhibition in the St. John’s Centre will present four Polish post-war painters-emigrants: Henryk Gotlib, Feliks Topolski, Zdzisław Ruszkowski and Marek Żuławski. These were artists acclaimed not only in the Polish surroundings - they managed to delight English critics and art lovers as well.
Opening of an exhibition will take place August 30 at 7.00 pm.

Still life forever alive is a title of a new exhibition presented at the Baltic Sea Cultural Centre. Its curator, Maria Borkowska-Flisek, a well known animator of culture focused on presenting works that correspond with the famous, though a bit forgotten motif.
How fascinating and surprising effects can give a game with convention the curator prooves presenting selection of works of more than sixty authors from Poland and Lithuania.
Festival of World Cultures Window onto the World has been established and held by the Baltic Sea Culture Center for a few years. This event brings together music and arts originating in various traditions from all around the world. Seventh edition of the festival will be entitled Trans Borders / Poprzez Granice.


Off Centre | Poza Centrum project embraces a cycle of artistic and performance actions whose central figure and scenery will be Kamienny Potok residential block located at Tatrzańska street, in the vicinity of railway track and major artery.
The heart of the project will be a rented apartment which will serve as an alternative gallery, studio and artistic office. Off Centre project is to surprise inhabitants as well as participants and audiences with unexpected micro (elevator, apartment, balcony) and macro (façade) scale of artistic performance and events.
