Welcome to the St. John's Centre

If you happen to be in Gdansk and you look for a great historic place to visit or an interesting cultural event you certainly cannot miss St. John’s Center which is an unique Gothic Church and a lively Cultural Centre in one.

The 14th century Gothic St. John’s Church is one of the last Gdansk monuments to be reconstructed after World War II. Until the end of the war the building was used for worship; damaged in fire in 1945 and partly reconstructed in the 1950 and later in the 1980s. The church, belonging to the State Treasury, reminded unused until 1991, when it was transferred to the Gdansk Archdiocese of the Roman Catholic Church.

Since 1995, by the special agreement with the Archdiocese of Gdansk, The Baltic Sea Cultural Centre has administered the St John’s church founding a Renovation of St John’s Office and immediately started works which helped to revive the church and make it a unique venue for exhibitions, concerts, festivals, film screenings and many other events. St John’s International Culture Centre combines tradition with high high-tech equipment which contributed to a wider and enhanced range of cultural events and tourist attractions.

St. John Centre is opened to the public daily from 10.00 AM to 6.00 PM
