"CROSSACTIONS: Urban Tales" [Open Culture SPA]

Crossactions: Urban Tales project embraces an exhibition of site specific works as well as a cycle of perfomative actions and direct artistic interventions in the public space which take advantage of infrastructure of a given place. We invited young artists of various fields to present their projects in selected locations at Grunwaldzka street (‘Bursztynowy’ milk bar, Park Południowy next to ‘Papryka’ music club) and in the exhibition space at Haffnera street. Their works and actions will refer to the historical nature of selected locations and they will provide new contexts for the existing urban tales and maybe even create their own ones. They will most subjectively reflect the strains between the local and the universal, the hidden and the revealed, between what’s ours and yours and between the history of a place and the history that will be created in our presence, without any formal limitations.

The exhibition will involve various artistic forms and related actions (spatial and multimedia installations, architectonic interventions, performance art, mini-concerts, special objects, video art). Some of them will be hidden, ephemeral and short-term, encouraging audience to interact and play with the ambiguous language of art.
