Swelina 2011 [Open Culture SPA]

Ecological culture inn (Ekologiczny pensjonat kultury) is a one-week cultural program within Open Culture Spa, concerned with activity of Swelina Association which will embrace lectures, workshops, exhibitions, screenings and concerts with an ecological picnic on the beach as a finale.

PROGRAMME

Monday, 18th July

  • Urban esthetics – information culture in urban space – exhibition, lecture and discussion devoted to information culture in public space. The focus is on the phenomenon of advertising as well as the possibilities of transforming advertisements into visual information; Polish experience in this field will be presented.

    • 4.00 pm – screening of Wall-e
    • 6.00 pm – screening of Home
    • 8.00 pm – screening of Helvetica


Tuesday, 19th July

  • Pixel as deconstruction, installation by Justyna Kuklo

Wednesday, 20th July

  • Infinity, light installation by Agnieszka Gajewska
  • lecture/concert
  • screening of Urbanized


Thursday, 21st July

  • Kinetic sculpture – workshops devoted to construction of spatial kinetic structures that take advantage of natural energy sources – wind, sun and water.
  • Video installation by Urszula Wasielewska and installation by Honorata Martin.


Friday, 22nd July

  • Kinetic sculpture – workshops devoted to construction of spatial kinetic structures that take advantage of natural energy sources – wind, sun and water.
  • Exhibition of works by Paulina Maksjan and Miquel Pang Ly


Saturday, 23rd July

  • Ecological picnic - mouth of the Swelina River, the park and the beach:
    • the picnic starts at 11.00 am with a ride on bikes, skateboards, longboards, scooters and roller blades to the mouth of the Swelina River
    • at noon there will be a picnic on the beach with presentation of the outcome of Kinetic sculpture workshops
    • there will be a concert of Pogodno band after dark
