31. Festival of Music Inspired by Folklore „Sounds of the North”

This Festival is a prestigious project of the Baltic Sea Cultural Centre, the event set for good in the calendar of culture events in Gdańsk and on the folk music map of Poland. It is devoted to present the most talented musicians inspired by folk music of the Baltic Sea region, the music that comes in variety of styles, reflecting specific cultures of the region.

Currently, the Festival takes place every second year, charming the audience of summer concerts with the most beautiful fusions of the traditional and the contemporary, presenting original folk artists next to professional musicians inspired by traditional music, its unusual instruments and atmosphere.

Inspiration is the key word for the festival - we invite artists reaching for traditional melodies and blending it with contemporary experience of music, creating new, unrepeatable sound, giving the tradition new shape and new artistic life.

Every new edition of the Festival brings richer formula - beside concerts, we do traditional dance showcases and workshops, workshops in music and singing, we organize documentary film screenings and theatre presentations.

We would like to invite you to the magic journey of sounds, rhythms and tastes where the traditional meets the contemporary, and the emotions expressed in traditional music, fill up every listener.
