Edu-Windows onto the World

Edu-windows onto the World in BSCC - a series of meetings for children in the framework of the Festival of World Cultures.

The nearest meeting will be devoted to the Arabic culture.

During our get-together we will embark on a journey into a world full of colours, scents and tastes. Interactive workshops will help us discover selected elements of the magnificent Arabic culture.  We will also find out which spices used in our kitchens were brought here from Arabic countries and what games are played by the youngest generation inhabiting that part of the world. All this will be accompanied by the sounds of Arabic music. The participants will also have the opportunity to go on a tour around the Old Town Hall, guided by Aloysius the Crocodile — the favourite among the youngest audience of BSCC. Aloysius has prepared a variety of rebuses, puzzles and fascinating stories, which he loves to tell his guests.

The aim of the project is to promote the idea of multiculturalism and popularise unconventional teaching methods. We wish to reject stereotypes and introduce children to the wealth of other cultures.

The Festival of World Cultures Window onto the World is a cyclical event, whose next edition will be held in 2013.

The classes, organised in conjunction with the Creative Education Society, are available only for organised groups, starting at 9 a.m., 11 a.m. or 1 p.m.
