The project "Gdańscy Pianiści Miastu-Pianists for Gdansk" is an initiative which aims to familiarize wilder public with performers from Gdansk. Those performers are graduates and students of music schools from Gdansk. The project stimulates activity of pianists form Gdansk, integrates them through playing together, and promotes young artists and helps them to realize their creative goals.
This project aims to show diversity of local pianists society and to show pianists with roots in Gdansk.
Artists together present to audience the outstanding works of classical music, put in various context, at concerts connected thematically.
Program of concerts:
Two following concerts will present "Musical portraits" of four composers. We will hear piano works of two Russian composers-Skriabin and Prokofiew and two French composers-Debussy and Ravel. The chosen composers are claimed to be the precursors and head representatives of main music streams in the first half of XX century. Simultaneously those composers had a key role in developing piano techniques and they started a number of innovations in sound and texture of piano.
