New music in Old Town Hall

The Baltic Sea Cultural Centre in cooperation with Polish Association of Electroacoustic Music and the Composition Department of Music Academy in Gdańsk invites you to inaugurating concert in the series “Nowa muzyka w starym Ratuszu” (New music in Old Town Hall). The concert will take place at Old Town Hall, the seat of the Baltic Sea Cultural Centre, on 5 November 19:00.
We want to familiarize music lovers with compositions of contemporary Polish electroacoustic music, with all it variety, genre’s richness and multiple means of expression. The concert will contain various compositions, strictly electroacoustic ( played live with the help of devices) and compositions on instruments accompanied with electronics.
Each musical pieces will be presented by its composer, often accompanied by outstanding instrumentalists, specialized in contemporary repertoire. For the listeners it will not only be the chance to listen to the music but also to talk to the artists and see the backyards of this genre.
Alongside the concert there will be an exhibition of scores and graphics related to electroacoustic music, helping better understanding of this specific kind of music. A CD containing chosen compositions will be available.
At the inauguration concert  we will see Lidia Zielińska (Poznań), Marek Chłoniewski ( Kraków) , Edward Sielicki (Warszawa), Krzystof Olczak ( Gdańsk) and Dariusz Mazurowski ( Gdańsk), accompanied by Małgorzata Rocławska ( soprano), Alina Mleczko (soprano saxophone ) and Anna Zielińska ( violin ), Paweł Zagańczyk ( accordion ) . The music will be accompanied by visuals realized by Cezary Jonczyna.
