Column of Culture (Słup Kultury) is a cyclical artistic action: a chosen artist takes control of a morris column situated next to the St. John’s church in Gdansk and – using any means – creates a piece that should in any way stay in dialogue with the building, its history or surrounding.
A work of an artist can be observed by people on the street - they can interact, talk, maybe even influence the creative process. The artist is working outdoors – his work isn’t intimate any more. Determined by weather and surrounding he himself becomes an object interesting to observe.
To participate in the following edition of Column of Culture action we’ve invited a young Gdansk based artist, Maciek Salamon.

Maciek Salamon – graphic designer, artist, animator, Vj, musician. Born 1984 in Gdansk where he graduated from the Fine Arts Academy. Member of Krecha collective, Gówno band (vocal, lyrics), Hatti Vatti dub-visual duo (vj).
