The Gdansk Art of Interpreting Accocrdion Music of 20th and 21st century

It is the fourth possibility to take part  in the project tGdansk Art of Interpreting Accordion Music of 20th and 21st centuryThis year we will listen to the premieres of  compositions, in which accordion is the most important instrument.


It will be the first presentation of the composition which is commisioned abroad in whole history of that project.The Gdansk Art of Interpreting Accordion Music of 20th and 21st century  will consists of two concerts. First of them will be in the Culture and Sport Center in Pruszcz Gdanski, second in the Old Town Hall in Gdansk.

This year the organizers commisioned original compositions from:
Krzysztof Olczak – an accordionist and composer, professor of the Music Academy in Gdansk
Cezary Paciorek – an accordionist and composer, recognized by Jazz Forum as a number one among jazz accordionists.
Gerhard Staebler - an organist and composer. His compositions are performed on many festivals of contemporary music all over the world, he is one of the greatest German composers.

The fourth edition of the Gdansk Art of Interpreting Accordion Music of 20th and 21st century  is dedicated to Astor Piazzolli. This year we celebrate 90th anniversary of his death. Two of his compositions will be performed on this occasion:

Le grand Tango – composed for Mscisław Rostropowicz
Five Tango Sensations- composed for Kronos quartet
