EUROplaying

The shortest night of year is always a good excuse for celebration. The tradition of St. John's concerts organized by The Baltic Sea Cultural Centre dates back to 1995. In 2012 the St. John's concert is called EUROplaying - it will be the meeting of two energetic bands, each in its unique style. One of the most popular ukrainian bands - HAYDAMAKY and polish band BUBLLICZKI will be performing. The audience should expect a surprise - the two bands will perform together pieces orchestered especially for the occasion.

BUBLICZKI is a 7 members band of  roister and music with kaszebian rhythm and west pomeranian character. Since 2007 the group is mixing the Balkan energy, gypsy spontaneity and jewish aura with polish and kaszebian textures. Playing on the biggest stages of world music scene in Poland, bringing awe and defeat to the Balkan groove fans.  

In 2010 this 7 gentlemen have issued a long play suggestively called Opaa! . The same year the band created music for t Pinkio theater performance Historia Wystepnej Wyobrazni, a story based on Bruno Schulz. Band's short history doesn't miss Oscars and awards of that kind. In 2008 they took second prize in Mikolajki Folkowe, in 2009 first prize on Nowa Tradycja (New Tradition, a festival of Polish Radio) - the most significant award for a band on Polish folk scene. Bubliczki are coming with second album which astonishing impact we shall hear soon...

HAYDAMAKY

This band is a  greeting card from Ukraine. This is the export product from the banks of Dniepr, playing more concerts abroad than in Ukraine. For years of the band's existence they came through many changes to finally reach towards the music genre that they have invented and promoted - KOZAK ROCK. It is a skillful mixture of ukrainian folk music and world trends, it is a melting pot for the essence of Ukraine, balkan , gypsy and jewish notes, and good old rock, reggae or punk. Their first album - Haydamaky - has stirred interest on national music market. The long play features folk sound from Polesie, Bukowina, and Zakarpacie, and the presence of the best known ukrainian kobza player - Taras Kompanchenko. The unique character of the record comes from folklore inspirations form various parts of the world and cultures. The long play Haydamaky was called the most interesting music project in 2001 Ukraine.

Three years later band's discography profited from next record - Boguslav. The album was warmly met in Western Europe and the USA. In the beginning of 2006 Haydamaky signs with EastBlok Music and Agents 4 Music (Germany) , hitting west european markets with Pervezija album, changed later for Ukraine Calling. The album reach number 7 on World Music Chart Europe, and their piece Za nashov stodolov took position on Charley Gilett playlist (BBC)

In 2008 album Kobzar was released in Poland, fully recorded in one of the last analogue Polish studios in Wisla. The record marked the beginning of the band's cooperation with Polish artists. This resulted in Voo Voo and Haydamaky  album released in june 2009 together with the legendary Polish band Voo Voo.
The album quickly became the Gold Record and was nominated to Fryderyki 2010 and to Wirtualne Gesle 2010.

The band is gigging a lot performing on prestigious european music festivals.
Haydamaky band is working on next album released in autumn 2012. This time it is a trip to heavy guitars.
