A year passed form first edition of EURO Chamber Music Festival "Friends play together in Gdansk". According to the idea the festival joined musicians from various parts of the world with representatives of other branches of arts and the public growing in number from concert to concert. Year ago this week long feast of "Friends" came to be a counterpoint do another great event-football Euro Cup. The sounds of festival music were mixing with sounds of stadium instruments and singing of enthusiastic football fans...
During the second edition we are not going too far away form the chosen form of joining arts, so inspiring for artists and the public. And although we shall miss this unrepeatable atmosphere of matches , we will not be missing-Friends playing together-for You-our public.
We begin on 21 June, the first day of summer, celebrated world-wide as the International Day of Music and we finish our festival on St. John's Night.
We hope that our common celebration of music will become tradition and get connected to cycle of music events taking place in over 300 towns of 100 countries on 5 continents.
According to our slogan promoting the event : "Make music!", for four days, in beautiful interiors of St. Nicolas, Old Town Hall and St. John's Church in Gdansk, we will hear diverse music performed by young artists from France, Germany and Poland. While listening to concerts in Old Town Hall one can admire works of art displayed by young, talented artists. We encourage to visit the exhibition individually during the festival. We encourage to participate in unusual musical-graphic art show-we will witness works created live to so much admired Vivaldi's viola concerts "Four Seasons" . The festival will be closing with improvised music by legendary Polish electronic music artists Wladyslaw Gudonis Komendarek, playing to cult silent movie "Metropolis" .
