Orchestra Svajone at St. John's International Culture Center

A concert of Lithuanian orchestra Svajone

The orchestra was set up in year 2000. At that time it was a small strings orchestra conducted by a teacher Daiva Martikonyte. Every year the orchestra organized international creative youth camps. Among the participants of those camps there were young musicians form Poland, Spain, Sweden, Latvia and Estonia. Classes during the camps were lectured by Parnas Stepanovas, a composer and conductor Laurynas Vakaris Lopas and Modestas Pitrnas.

On 30 June at St. John's International Culture Center the orchestra will present works of such masters like Gulio Caccini, Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis, Henryk Czyż, Christoph Willibald Gluck, Piotr Czajkowski, Edward Grieg, Sergiej Prokofiew, Tomas Leiburas, Johann Strauss, Klaus Badelt, Georges Bizet, Aram Chaczaturian, Astor Piazzolla czy Leroy Andersson.
