The Streetwaves project organized by the Baltic Sea Cultural Centre and Gdansk 2016 office was awarded by monthly Aktivist in category Event 2011.   Organizers have written in explanation: Artistic interludes between announcements on the railway station in Gdansk after arrival of suburban train? Minisets in the lift? Events in Przeróbka, Stogi, Nowy Port and on the railway station? Concerts in the backyards, public toilets and on the beach? Murals, points of renovation of clothes, happenings? It is brilliant! We want the same! Unfortunately in Warsaw there are neither coastal districts nor the Streetwaves festival: District - Capitol. That is a pity, because the Streetwaves had introduced the ideas, which  animated the city. Altough Gdansk was not chosen as the Capitol of Culture 2016 we look forward, that it still organize initiatives of this type. We constantly associate the Tricity with alternative music scene and original art. This compound, in combination with untypical location - became the greatest asset of the Streetwaves.   The award for the Streetwaves was received by an inventor of the event - Natalia Cyrzan.
