We warmly invite you to another exhibition prepared for the BSCC gallery space. This time we will present works of Dominika Krechowicz from a cycle The New Paintings.

My latest paintings are in fact kind of a painting notepad. They are created by my imagination, but they refer to reality. In painting I admire audacity of decisions, gesture and freshness of the colours. Forms that apper in my works sometimes are repeated. You can recognise some of the themes: clothing, shoes, bag, head, animal, pot, boat, horizon. Not all of the forms are unambiguous. Some of them stay unspoken or hidden under a transparent layer of paint. My works are combined of a lot of smaller paintings that influence one another, build relations. The reality that we live in works the same way. We are surrounded by a world consisting of different images and sounds that do influence us. They leave no empty space. They take peace and silence away. After a while we get addicted to them. We become one of the elements.

Opening of an exhibition will take place July 1, at 6.00 o’clock (admission free).
The exhibition will be open each day until July 29 between 10.00am and 6.00pm.

Dominika Krechowicz was born in Gdansk. She studeid Painting and Graphic Design at the Fine Arts Academy in Gdansk. Since 1996 she’s been working at the Visual Arts Department of the Technical University in Gdansk. Within 1995-2003 she co-created the programme of Koło Gallery.
