Marian Kołodziej.Theatre of life - EXHIBITION

We are inviting you to the exhibition, which is a part of the project Theatrum vitae. Marian Kołodziej. Theatre of life.

 

The exhibition is presented in the St. John's International Cultural Centre in Gdansk. Kołodziej was associated with that place. In the 70 he estabilished there the Centre of the Polish Scenography. The premiere of the last performance with scenography which was created by Kołodziej took place in that building, in 2001. It was Tragedy about rich and Lazar by Anonim Gdanski (directed by Krzysztof Babicz, premiere: 8.06.2001, Wybrzeże Theatre, Gdansk). Marian Kołodziej was attentive and critical participant of events, which took place in St. John's Church.

The exhibition presents artistic achievements of Kołodziej, the most significant performances, projects of decorations and costumes, pictures from premieres, footages of Pope's visit in Gdansk, documentation of his exhibitions and instalation entitled Memory Cliches. Labyrinths of Marian Kołodziej.

 

The main idea of the exhibition is to make his art more comprehensible to young audience. Achievements of Kołodziej constitute shocking message for contemporary and future generations of Europeans. This is a voice, which should be heard in the whole Europe and all over the world.

Monday - Saturday (except 8 - 10 December) : 10.00am - 6.00pm
Sunday: 1.00pm - 6.00pm
Admission: free
