Night of museums at the Baltic Sea Cultural Centre as Space around us is a presentation of the BSCC space through games, workshops and visiting secret places at the Old Town Hall and the  St. John's Cultural Center.

In the program

1. At the Baltic Sea Cultural Centre- Old Town Hall

A game combining cognizance, developed sense of aesthetics and space awareness with a perfect fun ( limited places). The project brings up the sense of space that we live in, enhances the need to live in a nice and well-maintained place. It makes us aware how much depends on our individual acts....Through the game the project brings back the sense of responsibility for the look and the quality of landscape. Owning to the game the sense of unity with the place of living is build together with understanding of regional architecture and landscape. For this reason each place has its own set of games prepared.

  • Klockologia (18:00-22:00)

A workshop in building with blocks and bricks. Klockologia is playing with blocks as a method and means used in teaching and upbringing. It is an art of practical teaching playing with natural blocks, which through its neutral color are a antidote for aggressive heros of contemporary tales. The aim of klockologia is to provide parents and educators with blocks as a tool of development. Kolckologia.pl is an educational practice, emphasizing development. Playing with blocks associates with following tasks:

developing spacial and logical thinking
developing cooperation in a group
practicing focus and hands motor skills
memorizing mathematical and physical properties
developing abilities to construct

  • A concert of classical music (20:00, 21:00, 22:00)

A 20 minutes block at full hours-we shall hear solo pieces of classical music performed by students at viola classes of prof. Irena Albrecht. Performers: Anna Paluch, Eliza Falkowska, Martyna Faferek, Magdalena Zera, Ewelina Bronk. In the program: J.S. Bach, W.F. Bach, M. Reger.

2.  At St. John's International Cultural Center (19:00-24:00)

Showing the presentations relating to the space and history of St. John's Church, it's war destruction and conservation and adaptation in 2009-2012. A guided tour and tales on finding original polychromes, returning church's original utensils and adaptation of ancient building.

This tour is an occasion to see usually restricted areas: Zappio's family crypt, church's tower with a clock from 1543, striking hours during the day. For children there are riddles-finding elements mentioned during the tour at the church.

3. The Square in front of the Baltic Sea Cultural Centre (Old Town Hall 17:00-21:00 )

Nature is beneficial . Overtaken by city jungle we often forget that. Educational picnic will be a perfect chance to find out how diverse the plants species in forests around Gdansk are and how it influences us. In front of the Old Town Hall there shall be a "Forrest Town" set up for one day.

Prepared material and games are mostly aimed at children and pupils, nevertheless the games are worth recommendation for adults planning to a May walk in forest.
