Piotr Niklas / Passage - photographic reportage from Gdansk hospice

Since January 2010 I have taken photos in the hospice. This photo-story about the people living in the hospice is morally positive, shows the value of human life, emotions in the face of the illness and sufferings. It also shows moments of joys. I think that this kind of photographs are worth to be exhibited, it can help to find the meaning of human suffering, decreases the distance from the illness and death. Above all, however, it shows huge value of human existance and emotional relationships between people

This photo-story has been awarded the first prize in Gdansk Press Photo competition in the category "Everyday life" and received distinction in national competition BZ WBK PRESSFOTO 2011.
