Hans Christian Andersen’s bicentenary takes place in 2005. There is a worldwide celebration of this very important anniversary. Andersen - Shades and Shadows is a year-long project taking place in Gdańsk - a common undertaking of many Polish and international cultural institutions. The project has been granted the logo of HCA2005 Foundation – the main organizer of the worldwide celebration.The aim of the project is a multifaceted presentation of H.C. Andersen as the author who wrote both for children and adults, a drawer and a great personality of his time
