Our Guest on himself:

„My name is Hani Hraish, I come from Palestine. I was born in Tubas in West Bank. I came to Poland in 1982 for scholarship as a student. At first, I learned Polish in Łódź, then I moved to study at the Gdańsk University of Technology. I met my wife Helena Szabanowicz in 1984. We have five wonderful yet adult children and a grandaughter Alicja. After the political transformation in Poland in 1989 I opened my business, I worked in restaurants and commerce field. For 15 years I have been the imam of the Muslim Religious Community and the mosque in Gdańsk. Together with my wife and late president of Gdansk Paweł Adamowicz I organised cultural events, including the Days of Muslim Culture, the first in the history of modern Poland. During that time, there were open meetings with citizens of Pomerania throughout the year. My wife and I are still strongly engaged in developing the crosscultural and crossreligious dialogue. Our work has always been pro publico bono, for our muslim, Gdańsk, Pomeranian, and even broader - Polish community. Currently, I am a member of "All for Gdansk" the Paweł Adamowicz Association. When it comes to Tastes of Culture, I inherited it, I always with taste and culture! First, I need to know whom I can share my meals with. I often call my friends to join me while cooking and eating. I don't cook when I'm alone. I hope I can cook delicious Palestinian delicacies for you soon!".
