"Theatre of Life. Marian Kołodziej"

The National Museum in Gdansk together with the Baltic Sea Cultural Centre and the Museum of World War II have been realising a project devoted to Marian Kołodziej (1921-2009).

Kołodziej, a great theatre and film scenographer, designer of pope’s altars in Gdansk and Sopot as well as many magnificent exhibitions was also an author of Memory Cliches. Labyrinths of Marian Kołodziej, a striking installation devoted to his personal experiences during the World War II (Marian Kołodziej was imprisoned in the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp, signed with nr 432).

Project Theatre of Life. Marian Kołodziej will consist of three parts:
- exhibition (December 2001)
- conference (5-6 December 2001)
- publishing (2012)
