We know the winners of 2012 XVI Gdansk Press Photo Competition.

From 854 sent photo-works, the Jury: Anna Brzezińska-Skarzyńska, Wojciech Druszcz i Christoph Cieślewicz pre-selected and studied 54  photos. The session of the jury took place on 24 July 2012.

The first prize in category  Life and world around us and the Grand  Prix of the competition went to Renata Dąbrowska for Village Discos 
reportage.

In other categories awards and distinctions went to:

Culture: Piotr Połoczański Streetwaves

People: Jury decided not to reward any works

Life and world around us: apart form the first prize (Village  Discos) the jury distincted Piotr Wittman for McJezus and Jerzy Pinkas for Opening of football field

Photo from outside the region: first prize to Kacper Kowalski for Toxic Beauty and distinctions to Cezary Aszkiełowicz Sand Storm, Marcin Kaliński for Galaxidi, clean Monday and Maryna Nawrocka Lake Victoria

Sport: first prize to Marcin Bielecki Summer Championship of handicapped swimmers and distinctions to Cezary Aszkiełowicz for Woman muay thai and to Krzysztof Mystkowiski On wave

Event: first prize for Piotr Wittman Following anniversaries of our Solidarity and distinction to Krzysztof Mystkowiski for Pull up

The Jury have noticed that the majority of works falls into reportage category and there is very few news photos.

Apart form the awarded photos the exhibition will present works that the Jury have found interesting. For the exhibition the Jury have 
chosen works of : Monika Goldszmidt, Kamila Gozdawa, Krzysztof Mystkowski, Daniel Frymark, Maciej Moskwa, Cezary Aszkiełowicz, 
Dominik Werner, Bartek Patelczyk, Jerzy Pinkas, Kacper Kowalski and Piotr Wittman.

Gdańsk Press Photo Exhibition will take place at the Baltic Sea Cultural Centre Gallery form 13th a September to 7th October ( opening  at 13th September at 17:00 ). Later it will be presented elsewhere in the TriCity.

The competition was organized by the Baltic Sea Cultural Centre and Kosycarz Press Photo. Awards were founded by the Marshal of Pomeranian Voivodeship and the President of Gdańsk, the President of Gdynia and the President of Sopot.
