Limerick contest on the occasion of the Chopin Year 2010

The Baltic Sea Cultural Centre has the pleasure to invite all junior high and high school students to celebrate the Chopin Year 2010 in an original way - we encourage you to take part in the Regional Contest on LIMERICS ABOUT FREDERIC CHOPIN.

This short literary form perfectly fits a humorous personality of Chopin, his keen sense of observation and his grotesque comments on the reality which surrounded him.

We hope we will manage to reveal a less familiar side of the artist - who was also a parodist, satirist, humorist and cartoonist.
Chopin's family and friends, as well as many noble people of that time, were delighted with his sense of humour. It was his sharp wit which proved to be his passport to a great success.

Please send your literary works (each competitor may send no more than 2 limericks) by mail or deliver them personally to the organiser's headquarters by 4 p.m. on 20th of April 2010. On the envelope please write an annotation: The Contest on Limerics about Frederic Chopin.

The date of  reception of works by the BSCC secretariate shall be decisive.

Conclusion of the contest - on 7th of may 2010!
